Exciting News!
Valley Voices is proud to announce the launch of our New Citizens Program, beginning June 1! Thanks to generous grant funding from Fresno State’s Humanics Students4Giving program, we’ll be able to support low-income Kings County residents on their journey to becoming naturalized U.S. citizens—by removing the financial barriers that often stand in the way.

A new path to citizenship starts here.

Este viernes estaremos en Avenal para nuestra distribución de alimentos mensual. La distribución se llevará a cabo en el estacionamiento del Centro de recreación/el parque Floyd Rice de 3:00 p.m. a 6:00 p.m. hasta agotar existencias.

Habrá 2 líneas- 1 de auto y una de peatón. Si va a estar en la línea de autoservicio, tenga en cuenta la dirección del tráfico, los peatones y el personal que trabaja en el evento.

Esta distribución de alimentos es ofrecida por Valley Voices, en colaboración con el Banco de Alimentos de California Central (Central California Food Bank) y Celebration Nation, al igual que la Ciudad de Avenal.

** Las distribuciones de alimentos son por orden de llegada hasta agotar existencias. Este evento está abierto a todos los miembros de la comunidad, independientemente de su ocupación.**

Avenal friends, we will be in town on Friday for our monthly food distribution at the Recreation Center/Floyd Rice Park parking lot from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm while supplies last.

There will be 2 lines- 1 drive-up line and 1 walk-up line. If you will be in the drive-up line, please be mindful of the direction of traffic, pedestrians and staff working the event.

We can’t wait to see you!

May Day, or International Workers’ Day, has powerful roots in U.S. history. Born from the 1886 Haymarket Affair in Chicago, where workers rose up demanding an 8-hour workday—sparking a global labor movement. Today and every day, Valley Voices honors their legacy and continue the fight for dignity, safety, and fair wages for all workers, especially those still pushed to the margins. We stand in solidarity with workers everywhere and remain committed to uplifting their stories, struggles, and rights.

El Primero de Mayo, o Día Internacional de los Trabajadores, tiene raíces poderosas en la historia de EE. UU. Nació del levantamiento en 1886 conocido como el Haymarket Affair en Chicago, donde los trabajadores exigieron una jornada laboral de 8 horas—dando inicio a un movimiento obrero global. Hoy y todos los días, Valley Voices honra ese legado y continúa la lucha por la dignidad, la seguridad y salarios justos para todos los trabajadores, especialmente quienes siguen siendo marginados.
